Crisis Support

Supporting children, youth and their families with immediate needs and crisis management

Immediate Financial Assistance
  • Support CCI with ration, sanitary needs
  • Youth and families with funds for rent and daily needs
  • Monthly Allowance/ stipend for unemployed youth and families.
Medical Assistance
  • Access to virtual doctor appointments
  • Medical Insurance to youth who are at risk
  • Ensure youth above 18 get vaccinated
  • Provide medical resources : medicines, oximeter, sanitary requirements
  • Quarantining support/ facilities
Guidance through the crisis
  • Weekly interactions with children and youth
  • Listening, following up and aiding children and youth with crisis support

Prevention from exploitation
  • Weekly check-in through consistent sessions with children and youth to understand risk situation
  • Engaging and setting perspective with guardians of children in high-risk situations wrt child labour, child marriages.
  • Ensuring children are mentored and supported during the school break
  • Ensuring children are able to return to CCI if homes are not a safe option
  • Children and youth have means to escalate risk situations to a trusted MAD volunteer
Safe living environment
  • Providing housing support for youth out of CCIs
  • Providing MAD community homes as provisional stay options for our currently homeless children/youth,
  • Safe travel support to and fro CCI
  • Ensuring sufficient food and sanitary resources are available for youth and children.
Ensuring safety nets
  • Weekly check-in with authorities at CCIs
  • Check-in by the MAD community with youth and families for early signs of risk that can be mitigated
  • Dedicate full-time bandwidth to identify early signs of risk and work on prevention
  • Helping youth find part-time job opportunities for a sustained source of income
  • Enabling community support within the youth themselves
  • Actively managing non-COVID related health risks
