MAD’s Fellowship is a unique country-wide programme aimed at empowering, nurturing and collectivizing Change Leaders, who are determined to bring about large-scale transformation in the world fueled by their passion, drive and vision.

It is a cohort of people who power hope in the world. This desire, for a better tomorrow, stems from wanting to step up and act on the social inequities and injustices around them. The fellows of 2024-2025 will take huge strides in bringing MAD closer to our vision while championing for the cause, picking up skills invaluable in the real world and immersing themselves in an experience of a lifetime!

Through a rigorous selection process, we understand them better - their motivation, team working skills and understanding of the problem we strive to solve for. / Evaluation process

The Fellowship Recruitment Evaluation Process is carefully curated and designed to be an experiential learning opportunity for all applicants. Here is what happened behind the scenes to select the 300 fellows of this year!

Management Challenge

In MAD, we truly believe in the potential of every volunteer to become the change leader they aspire to be. The three day management challenge focuses on various aspects of oneself such as one's integrity with time, ability to self learn, capacity of team working as well as ownership towards leading and bringing about change. The challenge also provides a platform to self-assess one's skills as well as the support required to manage fellowship.

Common Task
 

Fellows in MAD are needed to be experts of mobilising large scale volunteer teams to deliver all our interventions. Through actual simulations, the evaluators get to know the applicant's ability to deliver sessions, facilitate discussions, analyse situations and model action plans. The task helps in gauging the applicant's understanding of the organisation as well as their mobilisation skills, both of which are crucial across verticals.

Vertical Task
 

Every vertical offers a different set of learning opportunities. In the vertical task round, applicants get to experience the functioning of the vertical through role plays, case studies and written tasks. This helps the evaluators in understanding the various perspectives, mindsets and skills that are required to be built for each applicant getting selected for the role.

Personal Interview
 

The personal interview round is the final stage of recruitment and an exciting way to close out the evaluation! In this round, applicants get to interact with full time employees in MAD and have a mentoring conversation for their journey ahead in the social space. It’s a great opportunity to integrate all the insights gained through the entire process.

At the end of the day, the Fellowship programme for MAD is about taking a chance on yourself! And every fellow has a team of 300+ backing them up and believing in them every step of the way. That is what it is all about - a collective that Turns Up!
