If you guys want to know how ‘easy’ our Placements Project people have it, THIS is what you should be reading. Midnight calls to each other trying to make the scheduled placement activities happen, guiding the kids, arranging for transport, taking them to the venue and bringing them back safely… a very ‘easy’ task indeed! Sources tell us that the interns slept late, working on making the event happen.
The children and the volunteers traveled to Radio Mango FM Station in three cars. However, if you happen to be in our PR Fellow Krishnan’s car, in all likelihood, the car would be overstuffed, you’d be sitting as one of the two in front, and there would probably be nothing better! :D
Somehow, after we were done utilizing every space available in the car to the maximum, we managed to reach. Once there, the kids were taken to the conference room, given a briefing and then straight to the recording room. The expression on their faces were priceless! The kids sang songs over the microphone, imagining themselves to be super-star singers and musicians. It indeed was heart warming to see them all cheerful and excited! Soon after, the RJs and Program Managers were bombarded with questions from our kids. They wanted to know how much time they spent there, how they ended up there and whether they needed throat soothers after talking so much! Some even went on to ask how much they made each month! The people from Radio Mango interacted with the kids, entertained all of their doubts and queries gave our kids a really nice time. So much so that at the end of the day, one of the kids stood up to convey his vote of thanks. Aww :)
To sum it all up, a fantastic day from start to end! The hard work that everyone put in to pull of this ‘easy’ task was clearly visible!
I’d like to end with a few lines from my favorite song..
This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine
Let it shine, Let it shine, Let it shine!
