51 children from one of our centers down here, LMS Home for Girls, were taken on Monday to the International Book fair organised by DC books.

Want to know what they think?

“We are so happy to have come to a book fair – our first one! Happier to be with our ‘chechis’ and ‘chettans’!!”

While some were just happy to graze their li’l fingers over all the new books, a few found it enthralling to learn big words like e-n-c-y-c-l-o-p-e-d-i-a-e!

On the downside, now many want our volunteers to go beyond their CES lessons, and tell them the stories of Goldilocks, Cinderella and so on, preferably illustrated like in the books they saw.

A serious few aspirants were much inspired (and not scared, unlike some of our volunteers) seeing the books in the Engineering and Medical section.

All had their favourite niche; fairy tales, Malayalam literature, Audiovisuals, Picture books and so on. Tiny tots lined up at the book counters with such interest, saw many of the DC representatives interacting with them and getting their feedback on their fair, something our girls did with much flair and delight!

With a handful of popcorn, goodies and smiles, our kids indulged in their bookish side, with a promise to come back the next year as well.
