The Delhi chapter of MAD (Make A Difference) celebrated Christmas with its beneficiaries at Arya Anathalaya from 4:00pm to 6:00pm on 25.12. 2010.
After their regular classes, the boys were gathered in a classroom. With an enthusiastic rendition of “Jingle Bells”, the children settled down. This was followed by a seasonal version of “Pin the Donkey’s Tail” in which a blind-folded participant had to find Santa Claus’s nose, as directed by the other team members.
The spirit of celebration was palpable as all the children wholeheartedly participated.
The excitement reached its peak with the entry of Santa Claus himself, marking the distribution of the gifts. As the different names were called out, the children came forward to collect their gifts, open them and proudly show it to everybody else.
It was heartening to see their reaction as well the encouragement and approval that the others generously showered. Sweaters, books, games, stationery, bags were most graciously accepted.
The MAD team headed to the Girls’ hostel, next. A Christmas cake was cut and shared with the delighted girls. The distribution of Christmas gifts were greeted with glowing faces and big smiles were to be seen everywhere, as every girl wished to get a photograph clicked with her present.
Pretty sweaters, crayons and drawing books, games, toys and other presents were received with joy.
All the children and the entire team of MAD are grateful to CEB for their thoughtful gesture of providing the beautiful presents. Thank You for helping us spread the cheer and keeping the Christmas spirit alive!
