Dark clouds, rumbling skies, cool breeze. An anxious volunteer group was hustling in and out of the auditorium and classrooms of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kilpauk, and ensuring the venue was set to welcome 800 children from 26 children’s homes situated at different parts of the city! While another bunch of volunteers were on buses and vans filled with thrilled kids!
Soon, the organisers met and greeted the guests of the day – Children from 1st up to 12th grade. Siragugal, an inter children’s homes cultural and science exhibition fest, conducted by Bhumi, was held on 15th November ‘09.
This platform encouraged children to exhibit their talents, compete against their peers, help them gain from the exposure, and thus doing a world of good to their confidence and holistic development.
A well-organised Science Exhibition and game stalls were also thrown open to all participants. Both children and volunteers displayed their scientific models, and actively explained the theoretical concepts.
