Cochin- At approximately 2 in the afternoon on 11th October, a bunch of MAD people was accused by humanity for the good deeds they have inculcated. The accused MADDIES were found celebrating this fete on their Out-Bound Training day at the Royal Village Resort where gales of excitement were reported to have radiated. The team was jovial and is known to push the tempo even further in times to come, sources said.
All-right! Enough of that I guess already. :P
Well it all started with an anticipating vibe, overwhelming aura and a delightful pinch of MADness which logged the MADDIES on the morning of my first day with Make A Difference for our Out-Bound Training on the 11th October. The OBEDIENT OBT’ian day was my belly full of an appetizer to this yummy dish and this one does still kick me hard enough to keep it moving in me. The morning like usual found me drowsy, grumpy, droopy, anything that ends with ‘y’ and in my favorite pyjamas to shoot myself off my haven and get set for The Day (buhahaha!).
Woohhoo’ was what popped all through my system as i am finally a part of a sphere that makes the definition of simple things in life a lot easier.
Tick Tock 9am: I zoomed off to Karthik’s (aka Mr. Awesomenss?) place to pick him and zoom did we get to the Royal Village Resort, Elloor. A pleasant and picturesque place to be in, on an “ISLAND”, what more can anybody ask for. One of those places with ponds, bamboo cottages and many more that will always remind the inner you to be nostalgic, now!
Tick Tock 10am: MADDIES swarming into the usual cuckoo talk all over everywhere that here is there. Awkward factor in me and coolness factor outside me hits an ace, I wonder how. Jithin was the first person I met and why would I not feel any awkward when I am around anything that can make tall sound small. Shahnaz was my next cup of tea :). After a while, it was time for the “this how we do it too” time where Jithin played the big purple dinosaur role (:P) and we followed him in the tribe.
Tick Tock 11am: Kalypso Adventure Team pitched in next to make us understand layman tips that are seldom less noticed but yet more important to fathom. A little of Kalypso and a lot of NOT listening can also convince you to STOP at a green signal :). The team entertained the day with fancy game drills like carrying a rubber ball from A to B using 6-8 MADDIES and 12 strings with random BLIND FOLDS(!!!!), placing one lengthy pole on the floor by 10plus MADDIES and index fingers alone. Yes, these techniques are questionable but the MADDIES got down to marvel it. Buhaha again! Kalypso portrayed of how this much of an activity could be referred to in real-time practice where effort needs to be vectored in from each individual of the group. Kudos to them.
Tick Tock 2pm: The A-MAD-ing Race (was getting at The Amazing Race, hope you got that :P). Yes, I lived in it. The HR team needs to be extolled for this audacious treat they set up for us. Hats off to them. After the regular grouping and Manasi assigned as our mentor, we were all set to pirate through the turf that we were battling for (fyi, which ended up being a pumpkin :P). Matched in with Adeeba, Asmitha, Yasin, brainiac Eobin, petite Harsha, nick of time Blesson, Gautam and his broken leg, it was like ‘the pirates of the whatever’. Aye Mate’
Oh wait, Tick Tock somewhere around 12pm: LUNCH! I am surprised that I forgot to mention that. HOG was the best attitude that we could pose in then.
Yeah, so ‘the pirates of the whatever’ heads down and deeper down into something that took us sometime to realize was nothing :P. The hints came in with ‘weapons of murder of the boss’, ‘unlucky number me-who?’, ‘movie-the ring’, ‘bullock carts’ and what not. Well, not just that, did I forget to mention the water balloons.. arghh! Those water balloons! We were a little inefficient there. And the diving hunt for 50 coins (!!), another jading deal. Heading to the hills, chasing rivals, getting them down, WATER BALLOONS, getting yourself soaked, balancing act on a triangular bamboo and last but not least getting insanely MAD. That defines it pretty much I guess. At the end of the day, the pumpkin went to the “smart” team with the core members (only we know that you guys got lucky :P). Last words- barrels of laurels to the HR team hands down :).
Tick Tock sometime pm- Pack up time. Sigh! (already..) The bikes and cars rev up their engines and signs out of one of the days that will be remembered for the zenith of excitement attained.
Unlike a regular gathering, MAD and its team can, not just convince you to instill change, but make you believe in the change they preach. Well yeah, I think I am mad enough to Make A Difference now. :)
Until the next time,
