Divine home is one place where you can meet kids from 2 yrs to 15yrs. Each one has a story to tell, a dream to fulfill, a world to conquer. For a few the four walls of their dormitory is their world for enjoyment, well for the rest it’s their books with extra home work that they requests from their teachers. If its school during weekdays, its mad lessons during weekends. They started getting used to this routine with no complaints, no expectations (or should I say, no one to …

Exactly 365 days ago,
*Wake up call. 830 AM and my sis was on the other side*
”Oye mote!! Get your bumbums  off the bed and get ready for MAD.”
”Wha ? Is it time already?? I’m up, I’m up ! thanks…now get lost.”
Its 850AM and am searching for that Sanju’s email to confirm the address; sneak into my flatmate’s room, pick up his Pulsar’s keys and rush to Rotary Bal Bhavan.
I walk in at 915 to find the bright smiled Sanju and buhahahaha smiled Niki. We converse and I sit to fill …

DISCLAIMER: I don’t blog. Like AT ALL. In fact all I’m used to is gtalk and stupid orkut testimonials, so pardon the language, grammar and miscellaneous mistakes.
Simply put, Bombay Jayashri is a legend, period. And it’s no small deal to get to attend one of her concerts. I spent most of my time kicking myself for not having started listening to music when I was a kid. That’s precisely the reason why I’m so jealous of the six Balbhavan boys. The concert was organized by Spic Mackay, and was part of …

Great news, MAD has a PATRON!!!!

MAD is partnering with zoho.com as our major donor for this year. Zoho.com will be MAD’s Patron for this academic year. As Patron, they are supporting us by funding 50% of our National budget. (MAD’s National budget for this year = Rs19,00,000). The national budget goes towards three costs: developing the syllabus, development cost of webapplication and administrative cost of national office.

This is great because:
1. It covers a significant part of our national budget.
2. Being associated with a corporate establishment give us credibility
3. Other corporates …

It began with just with about 10 of us where we had this informal “chat on”! But eventually as the large number of late comers joined in, it was not only extremely educating but also (quite surprisingly) A LOT of fun!
We had the process training first. At the onset it felt like a lot of pyramids and a hundred thousand posts, each with a lot of “responsibilities”. But eventually we realized it was a lot more. A lot more fun and a lot more work. Clear structures of organization, we …

The primary colours of joy!!

In keeping with our zealous tendencies, Delhi decided to have the longest Children’s Day celebrations this year, with back to back events on 14th as well as 15th!! (Yes, no less than a double party for us!!)
The marathon session of revelry started on the 14th at Bal Sehyog:
Party Station I:
First on the agenda was a drawing competition where we distributed drawing sheets and crayons to sixty kids (yes we had a full house!!)…The topics given to them were either ‘Chacha Nehru’ {it was, …

**Prelude: There will be very few pictures through out this post in memory of my lost camera…which managed to take along with it all evidence of this day**
After a call to Sudha ma’am (organizer of Int’l Children’s Film Festival), a 100 free passes for MAD kids, a late night dinner @ Hotel Indu, Lakdi ka pool, a zillion calls & heated bargaining with cab rentals, desperate last minute calls to volunteers with cars (read: rich) & time to spare…the Hyderabad team went to sleep having sworn to give their …

Anyone who’s been to Holy Ghost, Aluva will agree that our girls are total angels Apart from the rare occasions when they decide to be moody, they treat us with so much consideration, affection and a quiet dignity of their own, we call them our ‘Little Women’! But today we decided to celebrate Children’s day at our centre! A lil prayer, a yummy cake and gifts for the gals! Let the pictures do the talking:

It’s almost ironical when we say we teach ‘children’. Our kids in …

November 14, 2009 was probably the best children’s day of my life!
Since Children’s Day fell on a Saturday this year, we decided to make it special for our kids. With two of our centres having other programs on the day, the third – Baalikashram – was chosen for the celebrations.
It actually began a bit awkwardly as the children were waiting for us but no one knew how to initiate the programme. Then we decided to begin by introducing to the children the MAD volunteers who didn’t teach in Baalikashram.

We played …

One fine day, in the Department of Computer Science, CUSAT -
945 AM *Chey! I’m late!!* *Enters exam hall* ”Why are you late ?” ”Sir, no water sir!” ”Oh..okay..get in!”
And thus I enter, take my place and think what to do. After gazing at everyone in the hall, I stare at my question paper for Industrial Organization & Management and realize – Studying in bits and pieces doesn’t help
That’s my question paper -

Hmm…now …
